Hear some of the smartest people from the greatest agency in the land chat about the future of the music business, marketing and branding for music artists, and Darryl's hatred of Jack White. Good fun for the whole family. (If your family enjoys NC-17 rated marketing podcasts.)
Yahoo! gives the world's greatest agency Purple Pedals
Yahoo gave us one of their 20 Purple Pedals bikes currently traveling the globe, and invited us to do what we want with it. The bike is specially equipped with a solar powered camera that automatically takes a photo every 60 seconds, which it immediately uploads to the internet.
We noticed almost immediately that the bike brings smiles to anyone it visits, and wanted to share that experience in a different way.
Plaid founder Darryl Ohrt kicked off the 2009 - 2010 season for the Savannah chapter of the American Advertising Federation with a presentation on Plaid's "attraction engine."
The presentation detailed Plaid's self promotional strategy, and how we've used our magic attraction engine to become the GREATEST AGENCY IN ALL OF THE LAND. You should expect that Georgia will be rising up and taking over the industry any day now.
PARK(ing) Day is a worldwide celebration of open space, people and community. We've been fans since we first posted on the event on Brand Flakes For Breakfast, but this year, we decided to get in on the fun.
We set up our own Plaid Park. We thought the most perfect park would encompass comfy chairs, wifi, and a place to relax and get some tweets out. Welcome to Plaid Park. Have a seat, and tweet.
So awesome, that they published an entire story about what we like to call our "attraction engine." Read the whole deal at Advertising Age. Look for us on the cover of Tabloids, next.
The Ford Story is one of Ford's most awesome sites (even more awesome now), and serves as sort of a hub that shares the hot stories and conversations all about Ford, their products, their technologies and history. And now they're showing their Plaid love.
We're sure that before our tour is complete, we'll be featured on the front page of every Ford site, quoted by the CEO, and have a car designed after us. But perhaps we're getting just a step ahead of ourselves...in the meantime, send the link to everyone you know and tell your friends that Plaid says Ford is HOT.
We'll be streaming more content than ever on this year's tour and it will all be made possible by Sprint!
Five laptops, three webcams, a video camera, SLR camera and other tools all recording, streaming and uploading interviews, videos, blog posts and other content. More action than the internet has ever seen, all broadcast from a car. It's all possible with Sprint's Mobile Broadband!
"The Plaid Nation tour is the perfect event to showcase what's possible with a Sprint Mobile Broadband connection on our 3G network. Whether downloading pictures or music, staying connected to social networking sites, streaming video, or simply staying in-touch with friends and family during the tour, we are really excited that Sprint will be a part of the journey and to help Plaid stay connected from Detroit to New Orleans." says Rich Pesce, at Sprint.
Thanks, Rich! We'll be lighting up the internet from Detroit all of the way to New Orleans. Through cornfields, mountain ranges and the St. Louis arch - it's a Plaid internet juggernaut barreling down the highway at 65MPH. Watch it all live in just 52 days!
