new logo work

We're playing with some new logotypes. This is so difficult, when it's for your own company.

If we don't make a decision by the end of this week, we're going to blow a few of our deadlines. Nearly everything related to our name change requires a logo, and some of these items will be at a standstill until we make a choice.

We've narrowed down three options today. We're split between them, and agreed we'd sleep on it, and revisit tomorrow. Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?

I'm digging the 3rd. A hint of retro without shoving it in your face.

I like the top, it's clean and fluid. I would tweak the "l" in Plaid so it doesn't overpower the "P" and enlarge the "P" slightly.

Option 2 does it for me. To steal hugh's choice of words, it's the most fluid for me. I think it has more character and is easier to read than the other two.

I find the second too 50s. I think either the 1st or the 3rd will do!

I'm not sure of the relationship between the cap P and the lowercase l ... it is difficult to read, especially at a smaller scale. Have you considered all lowercase? The descender of the p might be nice.

I am liking #2. It has a nice flow to it and has qualities of a plaid pattern in that the letters weave into each other.

Does anyone else see a potential ambigram in the word "plaid". Just like a plaid pattern, the logo looks the same what ever way you rotate it. Just a thought though.

I do like option 2 the most though. The letterforms are very inviting and it has more balance than the other options.
